Misimović: We Deservedly Won the Championship Title

FK Borac Banja Luka are celebrating their fourth Premier League title, and the first during the presidential tenure of Zvjezdan Misimović. He did not hide his satisfaction and extended congratulations to everyone who contributed to this major success.

“I would like to congratulate the players, the coaching staff, our fans, and everyone in the club on a fantastic season, crowned with the championship title in the year we celebrate the centenary of our club. This success means a lot to us. The team showed great character. We overcame some difficult moments during the season, such as the early elimination from European competitions and the early exit from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup. However, we regrouped. The team reacted well and, in the end, deservedly won the championship title,” said Misimović.

Unity and a winning mentality were key factors behind the team’s success, he added:

“The team breathes as one, and I wouldn’t single anyone out. Everyone deserves equal credit for this success. We showed team spirit and unity, and our performances on the pitch are best reflected in the statistics—we scored the most goals and conceded the fewest, while the league’s top scorer and top assist provider both come from our squad. All of this is proof of true teamwork.”

During his playing career, Misimović won league titles, but he says this one, in his presidential role, is even more special:

“Believe me, this title means more to me than the one I won as a player. I’m truly happy. From this perspective, I can say it was easier to win a trophy on the pitch as a player than from outside, experiencing every detail from a different angle. That’s why this title is much more special to me.”

There is little time to rest, as plans for the next season are already being made in Platonova:

“In football, there isn’t much time to celebrate. We will mark this achievement, but we will quickly turn to the new challenges awaiting us next season. What encourages us all is the championship spirit and character within the team, and I can promise that we will be ready for everything that lies ahead,” Misimović concluded.
