PREMIER LEAGUE RACE: A New Derby at Grbavica
Our “Red and Blues” will continue their Premier League campaign at the Grbavica Stadium, where they will face FK Željezničar. Ahead of the trip to Sarajevo, Vinko Marinović and Luka Juričić addressed the media, stating that the objective is clear – secure another victory and move one step closer to a new championship title.
“It is important for us to approach this match the same way we have approached all the others so far – with discipline, responsibility, and maximum concentration. If we repeat that, we can expect a result in our favor. The team has great confidence, and our focus is on the pitch and the game we want to present. I hope we will succeed in doing that,” said Marinović.
The coaching staff will not be able to count on Siniša Saničanin, while David Vuković is doubtful due to injury. Viktor Rogan will also miss the match at Grbavica, although he has returned to training and is expected to rejoin competitive action soon.
The upcoming opponent has been thoroughly analyzed, and Marinović says that certain changes in their play are noticeable.
“They are a team that is very motivated when playing at home. From the first minute they will certainly try to impose themselves. We know they are strong in winning second balls and in transitions. Since the arrival of their new head coach, there has been visible improvement in discipline compared to their earlier matches. Nevertheless, we also want to impose ourselves and keep control of the match,” Marinović added.
Our team currently sits at the top of the Premier League table, and Luka Juričić is expected to continue his scoring streak at Grbavica.
“From match to match we are achieving positive results and the atmosphere keeps improving week after week. We hope it will remain that way after tomorrow’s match as well. The team is ready for the derby. We know a great atmosphere awaits us, along with a determined opponent who has been going through a slight crisis recently and will be looking to turn things around against us. However, we also have our own ambitions. We want three points and to strengthen our position at the top of the table,” said Juričić.
The match at Grbavica Stadium kicks off at 15:00.
