European Night at the City Stadium: Borac Machine in Full Swing Against Petrocub
A light summer rain fell throughout the entire ninety minutes, but it could not prevent our Red and Blues from achieving their goal on another European night. Damir Hrelja, Luka Juričić and Ante Roguljić put three goals past Petrocub, while Borac kept a clean sheet ahead of the return leg in Moldova.
“I am pleased that we played a good match, and I am happy that we managed to secure the victory in front of our supporters. After being eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers, we showed ourselves in the best possible light. We earned a 3–0 victory, and now we have to prepare for the challenge awaiting us in the return leg,” said Damir Hrelja, who set Borac on the road to victory.
Luka Juričić fulfilled the promise he made in the promotional video announcing his contract extension, finding the back of the net once again at the City Stadium.
“Overall, it was a good match and a strong performance from our team. In the end, the result could have been even more convincing, although we are certainly satisfied with the 3–0 victory. It is a huge advantage ahead of the return leg in Moldova. However, we will travel there with the same winning mentality and aim to secure another victory,” said Juričić, who also struck the crossbar with a superb effort.
Ante Roguljić produced an excellent performance in the closing stages of the match. He put the finishing touch on the “first half in Banja Luka” with his goal, before also hitting the crossbar from a promising position, just like Juričić.
“I am delighted for the team that we managed to secure the victory. We deserved it because of all the hard work we have put in. We achieved an excellent result ahead of the return leg. It was partly my fault that the victory was not even more convincing, but the goals will come. I would like to thank the supporters for their backing. It is a wonderful feeling to play at the City Stadium,” said Roguljić.
