Premier League Campaign: First Test Against Velež
Our Red and Blues will begin the defence of their league title on Sunday at 18:30, with Velež providing the first challenge of the new season.
The coaching staff will be without Srđan Grahovac and Omer Sijarić, while all other players are available and ready to deliver another strong performance as the team looks to achieve its first Premier League victory of the 2026/27 season.
“We are entering the new season with the clear objective of defending our title. In the opening round, we face Velež and I expect another demanding match. We have worked and trained well over the past period, and I expect us to show that on the pitch on Sunday,” said Vinko Marinović, our head coach, ahead of the match.
Our team is now entering a demanding schedule of two matches per week, but Marinović believes there is enough depth within the squad to cope with the challenges ahead.
“We are entering a busy period and we will not have too much time to prepare between matches. We have enough depth in the squad and quality options in every position. After the final training session, we will decide on the line-up that will face Velež. As always, those who are in the best condition and most ready at that moment will play,” said Marinović.
